About Me

Welcome to my digital garden. I'm Abdullah, and I'm a software engineer and an AWS Community Builder.

I currently work as a full-stack web developer in an agile company behind a few highly successful apps on the Atlassian marketplace, the e-learning domain, and recently the GSuite marketplace. I have experience programming backends in NodeJS, Java, and Scala and building react frontend apps using frameworks such as Next.js and Gatsby. I deploy mainly to AWS, and I work with Serverless apps on most of my days. I also enjoy occasionally using some GCP services, such as BigQuery and Data Studio.

I previously worked as a Chemical Engineer, and I transitioned to tech 6 years ago after enrolling in a coding Bootcamp where I learnt Ruby on Rails. I've come a long way since then, but the journey of learning never ends.

I'm here to learn and share, and I like to dabble with a lot of other stuff that I don't deal with daily to understand how it works. So, I hope you will have as much fun as I do and learn something too.

Besides learning new tech skills, I like learning about social issues, politics, and scientific topics. I enjoy reading books, watching sci-fi movies, playing video games, going out on hiking trips and travelling whenever I can (I've travelled to over 31 countries).
